In college I used to care so much about "Practice." I went an entire season without giving up an offensive takedown in the room. That was the year I held back the most. Ben told me why do you care about takedowns in practice? Try new moves here, take risks there. Otherwise you will only be good at what you already are in the moment. Since then I try to challenge myself more. Force myself to breaking points and not have fear in competition.

I have always said that Ben is the most confident and disciplined man I have ever been around. His outlook on life and mentality are contagious and working with him has made me a more confident man. Watching him overcome failure and always come back stronger is a testament to his work ethic and self belief. I wouldn't be the man I am today with out his mentorship.

Watching Ben stay grounded daily and work towards long term goals really inspires me to not focus on the fight or the deal but rather put in the best work I can on an everyday basis. I have learned so many lessons from Ben over the years.

Since I started working with Ben I have learned multiple ways to approach struggle and overcome failure. When I am in the gym I am able to accept and acknowledge failure not as a form of negativity but as an opportunity to improve in a certain area.
A few months ago Ben told me "good is the enemy of great" at first I didn't quite understand what that meant however now I realize and can see that most people are content with settling for good enough because they are afraid of the struggle and many little failures that you will encounter on the journey to being great. Having been told that I have been able to determine and understand why failure is an important part of the journey and that if you can continue to overcome it then you are continuing on the path to being great. Knowing this has put a lot of things in perspective in both my athletic career and personal life and has allowed me to grow more int he last year and push towards greatness.

Watching Ben go through his own losses in life and watching the way he rebounded and kept moving forward was inspiring to me. One thing specifically in business is the way he is able to cut through the fluff and look at the heart of the matter and help make a sound decision.
